Jordan Daykin is the youngest ever entrepreneur to gain
investment on BBC Dragons’ Den and to date is the most successful business to go on. Jordan started his business at the tender age of 13 when him and his Grandad, Stan stumbled across a well-known problem in the DIY world, when trying to fit a curtain pole to a plasterboard wall. Jordan and his grandad went down the garden shed and created the first ever “GripIt”. When Jordan was 17 the business was already in 500 stores across the UK. At 18 Jordan decided to apply for the den and with success gained the investment he wanted.
Now 3 years on, Jordan has grown the garden shed invention to a company worth in excess of £25,000,000. The product is now stocked in over 5,000 independent and chain stores across the UK, exported to 32 countries, has recently been stocked in Builders Warehouse, South Africa and Bunnings stores across Australia and New Zealand. With an order being processed for 2,500 Home Depot stores in the US which will be shipped in the early part of summer this year.
Jordan has taken part in 2 crowd funds with the first one in 2016 raising £2,000,000 in just under 5 days and the second one raising over £2,000,000. Enabling to grow the company even more by expanding their manufacturing lines and product range.
Jordan will be speaking on the main stage of the Introbiz Expo – get your tickets here.
