Throughout 2016, staff will be encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities to raise much needed funds for Welsh homelessness charity The Wallich.
As well as various staff fundraising events and activities, the team from Liga will be taking up the 2016 business challenge, Clash of the Corporates, a series of thrill-seeking challenges and volunteering opportunities such as mentoring and industry related workshops.
The partnership kicked off with the Liga team delivering some Christmas cheer to the emergency Nighshelter in Cardiff. The team donated and decorated a Christmas tree, whilst chatting to some of the residents. They also arranged for 2015 Ethnic Chef of the Year, Stephen Gomes, of Moksh, to take a night off from cooking for paying customers, instead cooking for the residents of the Nightshelter.
Gavin Higgins, Director, Liga Recruitment commented: “Liga Recruitment is delighted to announce that The Wallich is our nominated charity for 2016.
We wanted to help encourage staff to think about the way they can individually and collectively make a difference in the wider community. The Wallich is a local charity and I look forward to Liga making a real difference to the great work they do by raising money and providing volunteers from across our business.”
Liam Baynham, Director, Liga Recruitment added “We recognise the important work that The Wallich does in our local community. Whether it’s fundraising, event sponsorship or offering volunteers, our team is looking forward to supporting the charity’s work.”
Zoe Westerman, Corporate Strategic Relationships Manager, The Wallich, said: “Corporate partnerships are so important to charities like ours, not only through their fundraising efforts but also by sharing their time and expertise. We’re delighted to have been chosen by Liga Recruitment as their Charity Partner for the coming year.”
