Local doll company, Bonnie & Pearl, was delighted when top secret plans to gift their Charlotte and Catherine dolls to the Duke of Cambridge for Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte became reality yesterday.

As part of a venture with their new British based furniture supplier, Ashcraft Furniture, the dolls, outfits and doll furniture were presented during a charity presentation in Birmingham.

Owners, Nicola Evans and Lisa Pearce-Bridgeman, launched the Newport-based business online in September 2013 to inspire innocence and friendship amongst young children. Since then the company has grown exponentially and the dolls and clothing are now stocked in Harrods and Toy Store in London. It has also had two successful pop up stores in St David’s Centre in Cardiff and has recently returned there for a 3 week long pop-up promotion.

Nicola Evans commented: “We were delighted beyond belief when we heard that we would be able to gift the dolls to the Royal family. It has always been one of our dreams to present a doll to the Princesses. It just goes to show that if you dream hard enough, anything can happen.”

The 19” vinyl dolls are available in seven different colouring options and come complete with an outfit, bed, soft pillow and adoption certificate. Bonnie & Pearl also stock a range of clothing for the dolls and will be expanding into new ranges in 2016.
