Lisa Cameron is the commercial managing director of Media Wales, whose brands include WalesOnline and newspapers the Western Mail and the South Wales Evening Post.
Originally from North Cornelly, Ms Cameron has been with the businesses nearly 23 years.
Her first career was with the Royal Navy where she served between 1991 and 1995. She joined the Royal Navy at a critical time of change and became one of the first ever members of the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS) to go to sea when she served on HMS Cumberland. She also served in Whitehall during her service at the Royal Navy’s communications hub.
She then joined the media industry in 1995 taking a role as a telesales executive in the Plymouth office of what was then the newspaper group Northcliffe Media.
She moved to Swansea in 2006 as a classified manager, before progressing to advertising director and then commercial director.
When the business became part of Local World in 2012, she spent a year working in the company’s London head office supporting its regional centres in the south to deliver the commercial strategy.
She then moved back to Swansea in 2015 taking the role of publisher.
