A Stockport-based entrepreneur has launched a new website after he received approval from a Dragon.
Dylan Moore runs his own graphic design and print company called the Aqua Design Group. He thought of starting a competition called the Royal Connection, to celebrate women in business and has given over 350 enterprises the royal seal of approval since!
So, how does it work? The Royal Connection invites business owners to tweet about their business using the #QueenOf hashtag. This promises a retweet and networking opportunities with other winners. This competition has been so successful that this has now expanded to include male entrepreneurs using the #KingOf hashtag.
Why did Dylan set this up? Well, he was inspired to help others after his own company was recognised by former Dragons’ Den star, Theo Paphitis. Aqua Design Group was fortunate to win Theo’s Small Business Sunday accolade back in 2011.
Dylan said, “The Royal Connection started as a bit of fun back in 2012 when everyone was in the mood for a royal party. I’d been lucky enough to benefit from Theo’s support and thought I could do the same for others.
“I’m thrilled with how successful it’s been and how many companies we’ve been able to help by increasing their Twitter followers, generating publicity and ultimately, driving sales.”
The competition really works, as previous winners have testified.
Lara Bishop won the competition on October 23rd, 2014 for her business, Corporate Baby. She said, “Dylan and Andy are a great support and being of #QueenOf is awesome. It’s helped us with our brand awareness and spread the news about our unique and practical baby gifts.”
