Cardiff Devils Thrash the Steelers

20 October 2014

Introbiz love heading to support the Cardiff Devils whenever they’re playing at the Big Blue Tent. This week, on Sunday, the 19th of October, the Devils faced the Sheffield Steelers, completely unbeaten this season.

The Devils were especially keen to beat the Steelers but they were without Carl Hudson, out due to injury and suspended Trevor Hendrikx. The team seemed completely undeterred as they gave their best performance of the season. The tent was full to bursting as everyone took their seats, ready for the face off.

Pitch 4

After a very lively start, the Devils kicked off the score sheet with a great goal by Brent Walton at 7:02 and less than 2 minutes later, the Devils doubled their lead with another goal scored by Jake Morrisette. After a brief break, the second period was completely dominated by the Devils as they continued to score. A lone goal was scored by Mark Richardson of the Devils to increase the lead to 3-0.

Crowd 2

The Steelers battled back in the third and final period. They were rewarded some minutes where Tyler Mosienko took advantage and pulled a goal back making the score line 3-1. Brent Walton of the Devils then scored his second of the match with another belter making the score 4-1. The Steelers answered this with another goal, scored by Jason Hewitt making the score 4-2 at 52:37. The clock was ticking away quickly and the Steelers decided that their usually solid goalkeeper would join the attack at the Devils’ goal end. Sadly for them, this decision was to end in disaster as Jake Morrisette scored his second goal of the match, which was an empty netter to make the final score of the match 5-2.

The Devils handed the Steelers their very first loss of the season, and by the way the team pulled together, they thoroughly deserved the win. The Devils will face Coventry Blaze, at home on Saturday, October 25th. The match will start at 7pm so make sure you book your tickets beforehand, it really will be another sell out!
