Introbiz Enjoy Taste of Kerala

1 August 2014

We’ve been looking forward to this event for an extremely long time! As you all know, our social events attract a great crowd. When we announced that we were hosting an event at Mint and Mustard, the places started filling immediately. As this particular venue is quite intimate, we had to limit the amount of spaces available and boy did these spaces fill quickly!

Crowd

We arrived at the venue bright and early, and the overwhelming aroma of the stunning Indian cuisine as we walked through the door, completely blew the Introbiz team away! Our stomachs were growling as we put up the banners and laid out the badges for registration. All we had to do now was to wait for you all to arrive! And arrive in crowds you did!

We managed to squeeze you all in and it was so wonderful to see so many Introbiz members and our new visitors’ faces. Everyone started to mingle as the canapés and cocktails were brought out, (there were non-alcoholic drinks for the drivers!) A wide selection of canapés was offered for everyone to try and enjoy. There was spinach Paneer Tikki, which is an Indian cottage cheese and spinach dish, another dish called Natholi Porichathu, an Indian anchovy dish and an exotic selection of chicken which had been marinated in delicious herbs and spices. These canapés were absolutely delicious and they certainly left our guests hungry for more!

The buffet was opened shortly after and the queue snaked around the whole room! We could try a little bit of everything which was lovely. There was a selection of curries, including a spicy Munnar chicken curry, the tender Kozhikodan lamb curry and a tasty vegetarian pineapple pahadi. To compliment these great dishes, the chefs had cooked some red raw rice and a selection of soft naan bread. If anyone had room by the end, there was a dessert on offer and this was called Nei Payasam, a very sweet dessert but a wonderful way to finish off a wonderful meal.

Paul and Tracey, the Introbiz managing directors then called for quiet and spoke to the awaiting crowd about our upcoming events and of course, the fact that Wales’ Biggest Business Exhibition is only 8 weeks away. They then introduced Jo Webster of Mint and Mustard and she spoke about all that Mint and Mustard do and offer.

Although Mint and Mustard is primarily an Indian restaurant, they also offer fantastic cookery experiences held at their various venues – they have premises in Cardiff, Penarth, and Taunton and will soon be opening a branch in Weston-Super-Mare and another in Cardiff. Jo told the crowd that there were two great competitions on offer for the Introbiz members and these were to win a meal for 2 at the restaurant and another winner would be lucky enough to win a cookery experience at the restaurant. The winner of the cookery experience was dietician Chris Cashin and the winner of the meal was Hannah Jones of the Cardiff Marriott. Well done ladies and hope you both have a fab time!

We’d like to say a massive thank you to Jo and the Mint and Mustard chefs and staff for their fantastic hospitality at yesterday’s event. The food was absolutely stunning and the service was great and I’m sure the vast majority of our guests will be coming back to visit you again very soon!
