Ever since I’ve started working for Introbiz, which is almost a year now, I’ve been told how brilliant Beaujolais Day is. The thing is, I never expected the day to be as fantastic as it was!
Obviously, we knew the event would be a tremendous one, we sold out of tickets within a few days which was great news! The crowds started arriving at the beautiful Madeira Restaurante, located in the heart of the Welsh capital, in droves. Everyone was keen to get the event underway – our guests were even greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival!
On the tables, there was half a bottle of Beaujolais wine for each person. This was accompanied by a delicious 2 course meal which was served at around 2pm while everyone was networking around their designated tables. There were 13 full tables in all – it was so great to see everyone relaxing, whilst networking of course!
Of course, the main reason for hosting Beaujolais Day was to raise money for a terrific cause. It is estimated that around 70,000 people in the UK are affected by a pituitary condition. The Pituitary Foundation supports anyone affected by bringing people together, to provide information and to raise awareness. Read more about The Pituitary Foundation here http://www.pituitary.org.uk/ The Pituitary Foundation is a member of the Introbiz network and we are extremely grateful for the work they do – and this is why all the money raised from the raffle and auction was donated to this wonderful charity.
The raffle was held first, which included prizes such as hospitality tickets to a Cardiff Blues rugby match, a giant panda teddy (which I desperately wanted to win!), afternoon tea for 2 at the Marriott Hotel and an overnight stay at the Llangoed Hall, Brecon. And so many more!
The auction followed with a truly brilliant prize – it was an opportunity to win an Aston Martin Vantage for the day as well as a tour around the Aston Martin factory in Warwick. A real money can’t buy experience! And if this wasn’t enough, 2 hospitality tickets to see Cardiff City FC play, and a signed picture of Eric Cantona.
The grand total raised on the day was….drumroll please…£3,500! Wow! Thank you so much for all your generosity and you’ve all made a difference to lots of people.
We’d like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at the Madeira for looking after us so wonderfully as usual. The food served was phenomenal and the service was second to none. So again, from everyone at Introbiz and our lovely visitors, thank you very much! We’d also like to thank everyone who donated every single prize for the raffle and auction. But most of all, we’d like to thank all of you for attending yesterday. We hope you had a great a time as we did and we hope you’ll be back again next year, or we’ll even see you sooner!
