Introbiz Raise £3,500 for the Pituitary Foundation

3 December 2014

Introbiz and the Pituitary Foundation are pleased to announce that over £3,500 was raised during Beaujolais Day in Cardiff. Hosting their 6th annual celebration, Introbiz was joined by over 150 members, all eager to celebrate, network and to raise some serious money.

The Madeira restaurant saw every single seat occupied throughout the venue on the 20th November, as everyone took their seats to enjoy a delicious 2 course meal and half a bottle of Beaujolais wine. Following the meal, there was a raffle and auction where the members and visitors could bid to win what took their fancy.

There were some fantastic prizes up for grabs. The raffle, which was held first, included prizes such as hospitality tickets to see the Cardiff Blues play, a stay at a luxurious hotel in the Brecon Beacons and a delicious afternoon tea, including countless bottles of timeless wines.

The raffle was followed by an auction. The star prize for the auction, and the one everyone fancied, was the chance to drive an Aston Martin Vantage for the day and an exclusive tour of the Aston Martin factory located in Warwickshire. This is a very rare to see an Aston Martin car in its production stages. After several minutes of furious bidding, the prize went for a grand total of a £1,000. So, a massive congratulations to the winner and an even bigger thank you to everyone who bought and bid and donated all the prizes.

All the money raised – £3,500 will be donated to the Pituitary Foundation. This is the second event this year Introbiz has hosted to raise money for the charity as well as raising awareness of the condition and to show how appreciated their hard work really is. The charity aims to support anyone suffering from pituitary disorders and related conditions and diseases.

pituitaryThe pituitary gland is an important gland in the body and is referred to as the ‘master gland’ because it controls several of the other hormone glands, such as the thyroid and adrenals. The pituitary gland is usually about the size of a pea and is based in the hollow behind the bridge of the nose and below the base of the brain. The Pituitary Foundation offers support to those directly and indeed, indirectly affected and answers any questions you may have.
