Introbiz Raise £4,500 for The Pituitary Foundation

20 June 2014

Introbiz has had a truly memorable year already, and we’re only half way through! One of the highlights of 2014 was definitely the Net-Walking event we hosted for the Pituitary Foundation back in May.

The Introbiz members and fellow walkers took on the Pen-Y-Fan Mountain, the biggest mountain across Southern Britain, to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity. It was a bright, sunny Friday morning and we were all ready for the challenge that lay ahead – sort of!

It was so lovely to see so many supporters for this wonderful event. Enterprise Cars, Lexus, Severn Bay, Pure Heating Solutions, True Potential, Hero PT all joined the climb with Introbiz and of course, Jay from The Pituitary Foundation. The team took around an hour and 15 minutes to reach the summit and we took so many pictures…well, we had to prove that we’d actually made it!

We took around half an hour to climb back down and this was where the muscles started to really hurt. We knew though, we were doing this for a truly wonderful charity whose work is not very well known. The charity aims to help anyone affected by a pituitary disorder along with their families, friends, carers etc.

The pituitary is often referred to as the ‘master gland’ because of its high importance – it controls several of the glands within the body such as the thyroid and the adrenals. The pituitary sits behind the bridge of the nose and below the base of the brain, close to the optic nerves.

We are very happy and proud to announce that altogether, with the luxury brands Gentlemen’s Evening, also hosted by Introbiz, we have raised over £4,500 for this truly amazing charity, a massive amount! With the help of Enterprise Rent-a-Car, we managed to reach this fantastic amount so we’d like to thank them for their kindness.

Introbiz and The Pituitary Foundation would like to thank everyone for their kind donations for the charity. Owing to the success of the Net-Walking event, we’re looking to make this an annual event, so make sure you mark this in your diary for 2015!
